Surgical orthodontics and corrective jaw alignment procedures

Overview

Why Orthodontic Related Surgeries matter

While braces or aligners can solve most alignment issues, certain biological factors require surgical intervention to ensure a successful outcome. At Alameda Oral Surgery Group, we provide specialized Orthodontic Related Procedures designed to clear the path for your braces to work most effectively.

Our most common orthodontic surgeries include:

Impacted Tooth Exposure (Expose & Bond)

Often involving canine teeth, this procedure uncovers a tooth trapped beneath the gums and attaches a small bracket. This allows your orthodontist to gently pull the tooth into its proper position.

Strategic Extractions

Removing specific permanent teeth to resolve severe crowding or to create the space needed for other teeth to align correctly.

Frenectomy

Releasing a tight "tongue-tie" or "lip-tie" that may be causing gaps between teeth or restricting speech and oral function.

Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs)

Placing small titanium anchors that provide a fixed point for orthodontists to move teeth more precisely.

From prep to recovery, you’re in good hands.

Before Surgery

We will review the specific "referral" instructions from your orthodontist and take specialized X-Rays to locate impacted teeth or assess crowding. We’ll discuss the procedure in detail and provide clear instructions regarding Anesthesia and pre-operative care.
